Show Cars

Jim's love for show cars started as a teenager while in High School with his first vehicle being a 1956 BSA Motorcycle, in which he (and his older brother Chuck) tricked out (Chuck had a new 1958 hardtail triumph 650, 'chopped.)

As time went on he married his high school sweetheart (Connie) and had a son in 1958. When his son died of Leukemia at 8 years old (1964,) to help him with his loss by keeping his mind busy, he took up auto racing at 'Whiteman Racetrack' (see: Super Modified page) in North Hollywood and later bought his first muscle car, a new 1968 Corvette which he treated like gold.

Later in the early 1970's his step father Don, sold him his Ford Ranchero you see in these pages. Jim took out the 6 cylinder engine and replaced it with one of his prior racing engines from his Super Modified race car of the past (Jim always kept his race engines,) re-did the drive train and braking systems and re painted it gold (now black) as well as a custom interior.
